Basic principles and fundamental relations of human structure and normal function; the major structures of each of the body regions, anatomical terms, important anatomical landmarks and topographical relationships of organs, basic function of each organ and relationships of organ systems in association with their function, structure and function as it applies to the gross anatomical features and overall function of the body systems, basic physiological and biomechanical concepts, practical examples of how the anatomical knowledge may be applied to nursing practice, a number of injury mechanisms and congenital anomalies.

Health assessment and the role of nurses, methods of physical examination, holistic history taking, psychosocial and physical assessment, data analysis, interpretation of normal and abnormal findings, and documentation

Identify the basic human needs, patient safety, nursing skills (patient admission and documentation, infection control, vital signs, self-care practices, mobilization, immobilization, tissue integrity, respiration, nutrition, excretion, sleep and rest, oral, local and parenteral drug applications, parenteral fluid treatments, blood and blood products applications) and theoretical knowledge about the nursing process.

Basic terminology used in human pathology, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, pathological alterations at the cellular level, environmental risk factors with disease development and prevalence, the effects of genetic, ethnic, and cultural factors in disease prevention, disease progression, and treatment. Diagnostic tests in relation to objective and subjective symptomatology, the elements affecting the healing process in tissues and organ systems and correlate these alterations with treatment of disease.
